Gisele Bündchen is ündchenmournsdeathofmotherVâremembering her "beloved" mother, Vânia Nonnenmacher, following her death.
"It hurts to know that I won't be able to hug you anymore, but I know that you will always be watching over us," Bündchen wrote on Instagram Tuesday along with a carousel of photos, including moments of the supermodel's childhood with her mother and as a grandmother to her children Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.
She continued, "You were an angel on earth, always helping everyone around you. I am so grateful to be your daughter and to have learned from you. Thank you for being the best role model of love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace. I will forever cherish the beautiful memories we shared and will live by the values you taught me. You will live forever through the many lives that you touched."
Bündchen also thanked her mother for giving her "five best friends for life," a nod to her twin, Patricia, and other four sisters Rafaela, Graziela, Gabriela and Raquel.
"Your love will always guide us," the model concluded. "I will see you in my dreams. Love you."
Nonnenmacher died on Sunday due to cancer, Brazil's Hospital Moinhos de Vento announced in a brief statement signed by her physicians. The exact form of cancer was not listed. She was 75.
Bündchen paid tribute to her mom in a sweet post for Mother's Day last year.
"Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there who with their infinite love can move mountains. Sending you all my love and reverence, especially to my mom , my wonder woman, a warrior who raised six daughters with so much love and care," she wrote on Instagram. "Love you, mom!"

In addition to the loss of her mother, Bündchen announced the death of one of her dogs in late December.
"Our little Lulu, our guardian angel is gone to heaven. She will forever live in our hearts. We already miss her sooooo much!" she shared on Instagram, adding a sweet carousel of photos with the pup.
