Kylie Jenner is sprinting away from this negativity.
The Kardashians star clapped back at comments regarding her appearance in the years following the births of her kids Stormi Webster in 2018 and Aire Webster in 2022.
“I was 200 pounds when I gave birth to my 9-pound babies: 8.3 and 8.9,” she explained to British Vogue in a profile published Aug. 13. “I’m back at my weight I was before I had my daughter and son and people are putting side by sides of me three months postpartum. I’m like: ‘Does everyone forget that I had two children and I gained 60 pounds both pregnancies?’”
Kylie—who shares her kids with ex Travis Scott and now dates Timothée Chalamet—detailed how her weight has fluctuated over the years.
“I finally lost all the baby weight after my daughter and then got pregnant with my son two months later,” Kylie explained. “And I felt in shape and it was working out, and then I got pregnant and did it all over again. I feel like people didn’t give me, or give women in general, enough empathy.”
As she put it, referring to the type 1 diabetes medication-turned-weight loss tool Ozempic, “People are accusing me of being on drugs or something.”
Kylie’s postpartum weight isn’t the only scrutiny she has faced as she’s grown up in the public eye.
“The world put a lot of pressure on a teenager, me, to make the right decisions,” the 27-year-old noted to the publication. “I just have to be gentle with myself because although I carried so much responsibility in the moment, I was just trying to do what was best for me.”
These days, she’s giving herself a break.
“I was just trying my best as a human,” the beauty mogul reflected. “I have to realize: ‘It’s OK, Kylie.’ Looking back, I’m like, ‘God, I was 17, 18.’”
