The model revealed Thursday she's expecting her first child with the British record label executive in an exclusive announcement with British Vogue. "I found out very, very early. I was about four weeks pregnant. I was on a trip to Milan for fashion week, and I was going to the Prada show," she told Vogue. "I was doing a really quick 24-hour turnaround, and I felt terrible but didn’t think much of it. I thought it was jet lag."
Instead, she took a pregnancy test to be safe and received the great news.
To Vogue, Richie Grainge also revealed the sex and zodiac sign of her sign. The couple will soon be welcoming a Gemini baby girl, she said. "She's growing pretty past," Richie Grainge said, adding the due date is "a bit up in the air."
On TikTok Thursday, Richie Grainge shared clips of the couple's intimate gender reveal and of ultrasounds of her baby. "We can’t wait to meet you baby girl 🕊️" she captioned the video.
Sofia Richie, husband Elliot thought they were expecting a baby boy
"We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock," she told Vogue. "My dream in life is to have a daughter (though), and Elliot is really excited for a girl too."
Richie Grainge continued, "I think it’s so typical for boys to want boys, but he has a lot of sisters. It was really sweet."
She also opened up about how her husband reacted to the pregnancy. "(Elliot) is such a sweet guy. He always wants to protect my emotions and expectations, so he kind of sat me down and said, 'If these are negative, don’t be upset,'" she said. "'Our moment will come.' When we turned over all three tests at the same time, they were all positive."
Her pregnancy comes nine months after her April wedding in the South of France, which developed a cult following on social media.
Sofia Richie, Elliot Grainge tie the knot in lavish French ceremony
Music legend Lionel Richie and Diane Alexander's youngest daughter tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes in the South of France, according to Vogue's inside look at the wedding.
The bride wore three Chanel haute couture dresses throughout her wedding weekend and allowed Vogue to capture her fitting before the ceremony.
"I honestly think Elliot is going to love it. He is my biggest cheerleader when it comes to anything I wear. If he doesn't cry, I'll be very sad," the model told Vogue at the time.
Richie Grainge chronicled her nuptials for her 3.5 million TikTok fans and nearly 11 million Instagram followers, which spurred a slew of Grainge wedding-related content on the platform.
"I’m really excited, and I’m looking forward to opening up to those platforms and letting [my followers] know what I’ve been going through the last six months. I can’t wait to open that door back up," she told Vogue.
